These Terms & Conditions govern your use of whiteplate.uk and purchases made through our online store. They are designed to comply with the consumer protection and e-commerce requirements of the Sultanate of Oman, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, and applicable laws in the territories we serve, including the United Kingdom where relevant.

2. Scope and Acceptance

By accessing this website, placing an order, or creating an account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your order applies to that order. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to place an order. By ordering, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

4. Products and Information

We sell professional tableware, glassware, kitchen equipment, and related hospitality products. We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, images, specifications, dimensions, and prices are accurate.

Under Omani consumer protection law and GCC consumer protection principles, we will not use misleading descriptions or conceal material information about products or pricing. Minor variations in colour, finish, or dimensions may occur due to manufacturing processes or screen display settings.

All prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout. Where applicable, value-added tax (VAT) or other duties and taxes will be calculated and shown before you complete your purchase, in line with the laws of the destination country.

5. Orders and Contract Formation

When you submit an order, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products. A contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation email or otherwise confirm acceptance of your order.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order before acceptance — for example, due to stock unavailability, pricing errors, suspected fraud, export restrictions, or failure to meet delivery requirements. If payment has been taken, we will refund you promptly.

6. Pricing and Payment

Prices are as stated on the website at the time of order, unless a clear error has occurred. In the event of an obvious pricing mistake, we may cancel the order and refund any payment received.

Payment is processed securely through Shopify Payments and approved payment providers. By providing payment details, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method. We do not store full card details on our servers.

7. Delivery and Risk

Delivery times and costs are shown at checkout and may vary by destination within the UK, Oman, GCC states, and other countries we serve. Estimated delivery dates are not guaranteed unless expressly stated.

Risk of loss or damage to goods passes to you upon delivery to the address you provide, or to your nominated carrier where applicable. You are responsible for providing accurate delivery details.

International shipments may be subject to customs duties, import VAT, and local charges in the destination country. Unless stated otherwise at checkout, such charges are the customer's responsibility.

8. Your Rights — Returns, Refunds and Complaints

8.1 Oman and GCC customers

In accordance with the Oman Consumer Protection Law (Royal Decree 66/2014, as amended) and applicable GCC consumer protection standards:

  • You are entitled to receive goods that match their description and are fit for purpose.
  • If products are defective, damaged in transit, or materially not as described, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photographs where applicable.
  • We will, at our discretion and in line with applicable law, offer repair, replacement, or refund for eligible claims.
  • Return shipping for faulty or incorrect items will be arranged at our cost where required by law.

8.2 United Kingdom customers

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable UK legislation, including rights relating to faulty goods, misdescription, and cancellation rights where applicable to distance contracts.

8.3 Non-returnable items

For hygiene and safety reasons, certain opened or used food-contact items may not be eligible for return unless faulty. Custom-made or special-order items may be non-refundable unless defective.

8.4 How to complain

Please contact us first via our Contact page. We aim to resolve complaints fairly and promptly. Consumers in Oman may also refer disputes to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MCIIP) or the relevant consumer protection authority in their jurisdiction.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, designs, and layout — is owned by or licensed to White Plate. You may not copy, reproduce, or exploit any content without our prior written consent.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the website or products. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Omani law, GCC consumer protection rules, or UK consumer protection legislation.

11. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, supply chain disruption, war, pandemic, or telecommunications failures.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection laws of the country in which you reside or receive goods.

Disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes may be referred to the competent courts of the Sultanate of Oman, unless mandatory local consumer laws require otherwise.
